Everything New in Wuthering Waves 3.1 Update

It’s adventure time again as Wuthering Waves is coming out with their 3.1 update. Called For You Who Walk in Snow, we’re gonna be getting a lot of fresh new content. This includes a new area, Echo sets and even free outfits. Here’s everything you need to know about the update before it comes out on February 5th.

Release Date and Livestream Details

The livestream for this update aired on January 23rd and showed off all the major details about what’s coming. During the stream, Kuro Games gave out redeem codes worth free Astrite to players who watched. The actual update will go live on February 5th after a short maintenance break. This follows the usual schedule, coming right after the current banners end on February 4th.

New Characters Coming in This Update

This update brings two powerful new Resonators from Startorch Academy:

Aemeath

You might recognize Aemeath as she is the one that’ll be coming up in the first banner and is pretty much the star of this update. Boasting a Fusion element, her signature weapon is a Sword and can dish out plenty of damage. Naturally, this makes her a Main DPS character. As for her skills, all we know is that it relies on Resonance Liberation and Fusion Burst effects.

Luuk Herssen

Luuk Herssen arrives in the second banner of this update. He’s a Spectro element Resonator who uses Gauntlets for quick close combat. In the game’s story, he works as the doctor and mental health counselor at Startorch Academy.

Character Reruns and Banner Schedule

Along with the new characters, this update will bring back several popular Resonators in two different phases:

Each phase lasts about three weeks, giving players enough time to decide which characters they want to pull for. This gives players who missed these characters the first time another chance to add them to their teams.

New Map Region: Frostlands Surface

This update adds a brand new area called the Frostlands Surface. This frozen area is part of the bigger Roya Frostlands region and has plenty of places to explore. Players can expect to find different spots within this icy landscape, each filled with activities, challenges, and hidden secrets.

The update continues the main story with new quests that happen in this cold environment. One quest involves meeting a worried researcher near Sonora who has an important mission. The story also features Genowu from the Bio Research Society and her creation called HERMES, a special motorcycle device that developed a wild personality during its training.

New Echoes and Sonata Effects

This update brings new Echoes that players can collect to level up their Data Bank. Three brand new Sonata Effects are being added to the game, though Kuro Games hasn’t shown what they do yet. These new sets will give players more ways to build their teams and boost their damage. Players will be able to farm these new Echoes while exploring the Frostlands Surface area.

Free Rover Outfit: Perpetual Spark

One of the best parts of this update is the free school outfit for Rover called Perpetual Spark. Players can get this outfit by finishing the main quest called The Star That Voyages Far. The outfit comes with a matching Avatar too. While the full design hasn’t been completely shown yet, players are already excited about it. This gives players a fresh new look for their main character without spending any money.

New Boss: Reactor Husk

A new boss called Reactor Husk shows up in this update. Players can challenge this boss at different difficulty levels and earn trophies for beating them. This gives players who finished everything else more hard content to test their teams against and earn good rewards.

Signature Weapons and Equipment

Aemeath’s special weapon is called Everbright Polestar. This weapon boosts her attack power and critical hit rate. Its special ability makes her attacks even stronger and gives extra bonuses when she lands basic attacks. The weapon works perfectly with her skills, making it worth getting for players who want to make her as strong as possible.

With the update coming soon, players have time to prepare:

• Farm materials and resources to level up new characters quickly
• Finish current event content before the old update ends
• Complete exploration in existing areas to earn more Astrite
